Hurricane Preparation
Role
I served as program manager ensuring the right people were in place and understood their roles, deliverables, key dates, risks among other items. I helped develop a realistic budget and ensured funding was secured. I identified a community partner (Dade County Federal Credit Union) to help offset costs. On the production side, I wrote the executive message, designed the reader poll, proofread, edited and obtained executive approvals.
Hurricane Season runs 6 months each year, yet residents must be reminded to prepare early to avoid last minute trips to home improvement or grocery stores when a storm approaches.
This campaign urges residents to prepare and provides authoritative information on what to do before, during and after campaigns. In addition to a printed hurricane guide that is direct mailed to nearly 1 million households, our campaign integrated digital, out-of-home and activations to ensure the public received and acted on information. Due to Miami-Dade County's diverse population, materials were produced in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
